Fruit Chaat (Spicy Fruit Salad)

Fruit Chaat

Ingredients

Fruits & Condiments:

  • Bananas – 2
  • Kiwi – 1
  • Apple, crisp green – 1
  • Pear – 1
  • Guavas – 2
  • Peach – 1
  • Tangerine or Orange – 1
  • Grapes, green and red – 1 cup
  • Pomegranate – 1, optional
  • Boiled Chick Peas (Garbanzo Beans) – 1 cup, optional
  • Boiled Potato – 1 small

Ingredients for Dressing:

  • Sugar – 3 to 4 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
  • Ground Black Pepper – ¼ tsp
  • Chaat Masala – 1 tsp
  • Chilli Powder (Cayenne Pepper) – ¼ tsp
  • Lemon Juice or Orange Juice – 2 tbsp

Preparation

Cut fruit and potato in half inch cubes (grapes do not need to be cut). Add a can of chick peas. In a separate bowl, add all the ingredients for the dressing and mix with a whisk. Pour the dressing over fruits, chickpeas and potato. Chill for two hours in the refrigerator and serve.
